NAME; Velodyna.
AGE; 22
OTHER CHARACTERS PLAYED; Yoshiya “Joshua” Kiryu [Bad username or unknown identity: ”whitefeather”]
IC Information
CHARACTER NAME; Rhyme.
AGE; Unknown. I’m going to go with 11, since her character designs show no signs of adolescence and her poses appear to be quite childish.
CANON; The world ends with you
CANON POINT; post-Erasure.
FAMILY TYPES; Deep Savers, Virus Busters, Wind Guardians.
APPEARANCE; Rhyme is a pretty normal looking girl. Her character design shows quite clearly that she’s still a child, and is short in stature with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her face is somewhat impish and her look tomboyish. She wears B-style threads in the same manner as her brother, even down to a matching, yet smaller, skull pin on her beanie. She wears an oversized orange jumper depicting a skull with a heart-shaped head over a cross. Similarities can be discerned to the reaper’s game mark, so it’s most likely Gatito branded. She wears a set of white dungarees and boyish sneakers - as well as her favourite pendant (Gatito branded - this pendant in particular very rare and sought after by most fashionistas in Shibuya) which her brother gave her. It is bell-shaped and as the cutscene of her erasure shows, it indeed chimes. (Though of course in this RPG she won’t possess her pendant since it broke when she was Erased and fell to the ground.)
PERSONALITY; Rhyme is both a practical and a forthright girl, yet measures both traits with an innate gentleness and wisdom which is beyond her years. She is indeed the Yin to Beat’s Yang, and most known for always being full of inspirational quotes and sayings to lighten his mood. Rhyme’s someone that anyone would tend to depend on despite her tender years, and she does an excellent job of holding people together in mundane or dire of circumstance. She’s very kind and helpful in nature, and tends to think of the bigger picture far more than her own personal feelings.
Rhyme is very perceptive. While she certainly doesn’t have any ESP or powers above human, she tends to notice quite a few things others would normally overlook. She has an attention to detail which is beyond her years. Whether it’s Neku and Shiki’s player pins from a distance (which was how she stopped Beat from attacking them on sight), the red wall reapers and their purpose, the point of memes or even the functions of her phone in the UG, she’s often one to look at every detail of a situation, and is a hard person to fool despite her age. Most important is the fact that her perceptiveness doesn’t seem to be a result of being over-critical of the world. She thinks on things very rationally and very maturely, and more often than not comes to the right decision as a result.
A side note: The above is not to say she’s incapable of being impulsive. Despite her nature, if something bad happens to someone she cares about, she’ll abandon reason (even if it’s a really bad idea...) and act -- which is how she was erased.
Rhyme’s social and friendly. While she’s not exactly fake with how good-natured she is, she’s a very affable sort nonetheless. Rhyme’s very genuine with her feelings and teamwork is natural to her. She doesn’t team up with people out of the notion that she’s weak and needs them to cover for her weakness or anything like that, she can just simply see the bigger picture that working together is a much better option for people on the same side than forming separate groups. She gives information freely and doesn’t hesitate to help out when she’s needed. Furthermore, in her interactions with Neku and Shiki, she doesn’t get agitated by Neku’s poor attitude- she simply blames herself for causing his adverse reaction even though at that point it’s really not her fault. Likewise, she doesn’t go along with just what anyone says, right or wrong, out of self-consciousness or the need to stay on the right side of people. Furthermore, she seems be very friendly to Shiki, even though they didn’t even know each other well - and even though the first days of the first week, Shiki’s fake!friendly to the point of coming across as obnoxious. Furthermore, she seems to become fond of Beat, going as far as lightly teasing him, though of course not recognizing him as her brother.
Rhyme’s a very modest person. When she helps the group, she never takes credit for any of it. She seems to be happy enough with the fact some benefit has been provided, and never ever seeks praise or acknowledgement that she was the one to help out. She freely admits when she hasn’t a clue about what is required of the group as per the day’s required mission, and allows others to put forward their viewpoints without any hinderance. When she corrects someone, she does it nicely and respectfully, and tries to be encouraging with her criticism.
Rhyme’s most defining trait is her kindness, in particular toward Beat. Beat is impulsive, rash, and very headstrong, and Rhyme is always grounding him. Her kindness is proved with how she treats Beat when she thinks him as a complete stranger - the guy, put bluntly, is a complete joke. He’s aggressive and headstrong and really quite the idiot (and let’s face it. If the Reaper’s Game was solo? He wouldn’t last a day) - but she never gets frustrated with his attitude or shortcomings even though he’s more a weight around her neck than a partner. Instead she encourages him to act a little more reasonably, often with little sayings, and is extremely gentle, kind, and sweet with him. It’s understandable to act that way when the idiot in question is your brother, but a complete stranger? It just doesn’t happen with most people. Apart from her. She’s genuinely kind, and it’s very rare.
Rhyme’s dreams being taken will have a big impact on her personality. While she’s outwardly cheerful and social even without them, it seems to be a point of worry and anxiousness to her that she has absolutely no idea what to do with her life should she ever return to it again. She even goes as far as questioning whether or not she had any business living again (though it’s only to Beat...). As such, she can be somber at times - though Beat’s rehashing of what she told him in the RG regarding his lack of dreams seems to motivate her into not mentioning anything of the sort again. I believe personally that Mr. Hanekoma’s secret reports are correct - that she’ll find new dreams - and the digital world might just be the ticket.
One additional note: In the japanese version of the game, she does refer to herself in masculine pronouns. Most likely this is a manifestation of her tomboyish nature which didn’t quite make translation.

SAMPLES
FIRST PERSON;
[There’s a small voice, and then a transmission. A small child stands at the center of it, her hands curled up beneath her oversized sleeves. She’s staticy. Very staticy, and her body flickers a few times. She pays it little mind though and smiles slightly, looking a little awkward. What can be said. Death's death, right? She certainly wasn’t expecting anything like the Reaper’s Game. Nor was she expecting the Reaper’s Game to have a trapdoor to a room full of all manner of machinery. Culumon sits on her shoulder, waving eagerly at the screen.]
Um, hi. It’s kind of intimidating to stream to people I’m not all that familiar with, so sorry if my message is junk to you. I’m Rhyme. I was from a place called Shibuya - in a country called Japan - on another world. I suppose it’s not really that important. Not now. But, um... I was wondering if there’s anyone from Earth here. It’s probably for the best that I get some kind of information about what to expect and what not to, and I guess someone from the 21st century to explain differences between this world and Earth would be pretty helpful. It always helps to have a cheatsheet first, right?
[Especially since she’s all alone now. She thinks she managed to push that guy, Beat, out of the way of that Noise, so this was worth it. Even if it’s kind of terrifying to actually be away from him for reasons she can’t exactly fathom. She seems to take a moment, quite worriedly looking downward, before forcing a smile on her face.]
...Thanks. Even if you can’t help, thanks for listening to this. Maybe I’ll see some of you around?
